Dead of Night Publications has suspended publication of DEAD OF NIGHT
MAGAZINE for an indefinite period of time. The release date of the next
issue, which was to have been October 1996, has been delayed. The new release
date will be announced on editor Lin Stein's website, http://home.aol.com/
linstein. They will not be accepting subscription orders until publication of
the magazine has resumed. Guidelines are no longer being sent out for the
time being and the editor has contacted contributors.

(Editor Lin Stein has also canceled her guest appearance in the Workshop for
now, we hope to welcome her back on a later date. See the Calendar below for
new schedule.)

WHISPERING PINES QUARTERLY e-magazine and everything related to it is
officially dead. The last issue that was actually published was Spring 1995.
According to publisher/editor Craig Hansen, "Checks for Summer 1995 issue
were sent out, but the publication never came out. . . All rights were
retained by the authors at all times."

DEATHREALM has been banned from retail distribution in Canada because of its
"shocking" cover. According to editor Mark Rainey, Canadian distributors
Gordon & Gotch called him and said they can't distribute it because the cover
falls into the "restricted" class. . .whatever the hell that means. The
cover, by Ian McDowell, is of a "weird baby."

WHITE WOLF has announced that "Kindred: The Embraced," a weekly television
drama based on its "Vampire: The Masquerade," will premiered on Tuesday,
April 2 with a 2 hour movie on FOX Network at 8 PM. Eight 1 hour episodes
will then air on Wednesday nights. beginning April 3.

is, in reality, a magazine named "sinister" (all lower case), the editor's
name is Primordial Sin. I think that is "Mr." Sin. . .

Japanese publisher Justsystem has just published a hardcover edition of THE
MAMMOTH BOOK OF FRANKENSTEIN edited by Stephen Jones. The abridged
translation includes 12 of the 23 stories included in the original edition.
Rights were arranged through the Tuttle-Mori Agency, Inc., Tokyo.

CLIVE BARKER'S A-Z OF HORROR compiled by Stephen Jones has been sold by BBC
Books to HarperCollins in America for hardcover publication this Fall. The
heavily-illustrated history of the horror field is set to tie in with the TV
series due to be broadcast in late 1996 or early '97 by the BBC in the UK and
A&E in the USA.

STEPHEN KING has two new books set for release next fall: DESPERATION and a
new Richard Bachman book, THE REGULATORS. King's new serial novel, THE GREEN
